Design History

Delany Flush Valves is unique in being the only flush valve manufacturer providing superior diaphragm design in every model.

Outstanding performance and minimum maintenance costs can be expected from Delany Flush Valve, a reflection of the extraordinary features which have been incorporated into their design.

Delany Flush Valves has been alert in the application and use of new materials as they appear on the market and also in the inclusion of new features in our valve.

Easy Assembly

Access to any of Delany valve parts is easy. Simply open the valve cover with a wrench and remove the handle. Remove the interior assemblies and replace it as a unit or replace any one of the parts.

Speed Set Flush Selector

Without taking the valve apart or turning the water off, you can adjust Delany's external flush selector to meet any non-average field condition. The Speed Set Flush Selector also regulates water to a minimum pressure, resulting in significant water savings.

Turn-to-Silence Equipment

Delany uses a Delrin choke ring in the main valve seat to create a cushion of water. This hydraulic cushion allows the valve to seat slowly, smoothly and silently. In the stop, a floating rubber skirt slows the turbulent noisy water to a quiet streamline flow.

Kwikfit Adjustable Centers

Kwikfit allows for variations in roughing of up to 1 inch (longer unions are also available), saving manhours on every installation. It is secure and leak-free because it employs a running thread instead of a slip joint, and it uses an "O" ring rather than a sliding seal.

Rubber Sleeve

Delany was the first to patent and pioneer this rubber sleeve design feature, providing double protection by collapsing into a solid wall of rubber when under a vacuum, thereby blocking backflow and simultaneously exposing the air vents in the flush connection for air gap protection. The sleeve's built-in alarm causes it to weep with each flush if the sleeve has been cut or ruptured. Replacing the sleeve is easy and only takes a few minutes.

Nylon Tip

With 20,000 flushes in a year, ordinary metal-tipped operating stems wear down and won't make contact with the auxiliary valve. Delany puts a nylon tip on every operating system to prevent this.

Rubberflex Handle

The patented, maintenance-free design of Delany's "Rubberflex" handle reduces hassle leakage. When the handle is depressed, the rubber flexer compresses and expands to create a sealing action against the inner wall of the handle nut. As the valve flushes, water enters the cavity in the flexer, exerting an additional sealing pressure. As the handle is released, the natural flexer instantly recovers to its natural shape, returning the handle to its normal position.

Renewable Valve Seat

Delany valve seats are made of Delrin, which doesn't corrode or accumulate mineral deposits. It lubricates itself, resists abrasion and friction-wear, can be molded to within hairline tolerances, and is more stable in water. This makes the seat almost indestructible. However, if the valve does get damaged, replacing it is easy: just unscrew the old one and screw in the new one. The valve stays in line for the life of the building.
